Our History

It is our history of quality research and constant innovation in the milling of soft wheat that allows us say: “we feed your trust”.

A history that coincides with that of the Cavallari family, which has been involved in cereal business for over a century. The family’s long standing passion led to the acquisition of the first mill in the mid-1930s.

Ever since, the Cavallari name has been closely linked to the milling industry.

Over the following twenty years, other mills were added in the Po Valley, between the regions of Veneto and Emilia Romagna, where the best Italian soft wheat is grown.

Each of five brothers managed their own milling plant independently.

In 1955 Angelo bought a historic mill in Ceneselli, in the province of Rovigo, a land dedicated to the production of cereals and of an ancient milling tradition. By keeping up with technological evolution he developed it into the renowned mill which, since 1971, has been called Mulino Padano: the only industrial plant left today in this fertile province crossed by the river Po.

In addition to passionately handing down an ancient tradition, we have always looked ahead, constantly implementing technological innovation. The complete renovation of the historic plant in 1985 and then again in 1995, culminated in the construction of the new Salara mill, completed in 2015 and equipped with the latest generation, cutting-edge technology.
Our history and our constant glance towards the future allow us, every day, to feed your trust.
